Sports and Exercise Psychology
Whether you are a professional or semi-professional athlete, a keen amateur golfer or an occasional exerciser, sports and exercise psychology can help you to improve your performance and to reach your goals.
With experience of working within a number of different sports, I am able to work with individuals, teams, coaches and parents to enhance performance, achieve goals and to provide help and support for a variety of sporting and exercise issues. Also with my mental health background, I am able to treat athletes whose difficulties are due to general mental health problems. Individual sessions are offered face-to-face and via Skype, Zoom and telephone.
Examples of the areas that I can work with includes:
- Performance Anxiety
- Coping under Pressure
- Managing and Returning from Injury
- Adherence to Exercise
- Motivation
- Confidence Building
- Increasing attention and focus
- Goal Setting
- Preparing for Competition
- Managing Emotions
- Athletes’ Mental Health
- Adjusting to Injury and Retirement
- Sports trauma
